SHE WOLF

Sometimes I like to toughen up my outfit of the day. Everybody thinks I'm such a 'lady' because I wear dresses and heels most of the time, well then they don't now me. Sometimes I'm doubting myself if I'm a lady, haha I don't like chocolate and I can read maps very well. Yup, I know I'm strange! So today I wanted to be a tough chick, and why not wear this amazing leather gilet with a wolf shirt (both from the New Yorker). I forgot I had this shirt, it was between my dancing clothes. I don't know why I wore it in my ballet class, but it's nice to finally create an outfit with it. Normally when I'm shopping I always skip the New Yorker. Why? I don't know, it just happen. But my friend Nuance told my I had to go there and just take a look, and boy... she was right! Bye bye money, hello new clothing! I combined this with a small striped black and white trousers from the children department at H&M. Yes, I'm a tiny lady of 1.58m so I fit children's clothing. Well it's quite handy, because nowadays they have sort of the same clothing but much cheaper! And to complete this "She-Wolf" look I'm wearing my dear Isabel Marant wedge sneakers. INTERNSHIP @ THE DARLING, AMSTERDAM

This week I started my internship at the Darling in the nine streets in Amsterdam. It's a little store, whick looks like a little girls bedroom; a lot of pink and all kinds of cute girly stuff. They sell customized clothing, bags, nailpolish and jewelry. Besides that, it's a cafe as well. You can have nice fresh juices, coffee and tea and... (this is the best part) CUPCAKES + MACAROONS. When you walk into the store it's like you're walking into a doll-house, everything is just really cute. Such a nice atmosphere, me likey (big time!). I already customized a shirt, which you can buy now. I'm so excited because I'm learning a lot, and I'm having fun creating new things and look for inspiration. Next week I'm starting at Vogue Academy, I have the feeling this might be a good year after all. Everything falls into place, and I'm happy to be busy with the things I love to do. PACKING MY SUITCASE FOR MY VACANTION

Sunday morning, very early (around 5 o'clock!!) I'm leaving the Netherlands for a week, to have a nice vacation at Lanzarote! But first we stay a night at the Mercure Hotel at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam.
And as usual I planned everyday before I leave, so I have to pack my suitcase now already. But, that's no problem for me, because I love it. It's easy girls, just make (new) outfits you want to wear and add some extra tops and shorts/skirts so you can combine other things to create new looks! Told you, piece of cake ;-) Look, I have plenty space enough, for my shoes of course! And... for all the things I want to buy in Spain.

I'm excited, I've made so many new Outfit's with 'old' clothing, because I'm very inspired by Sex&the'City lately. Just love the Carrie-look, styled by Pat Fields - it's just stunning! So when I don't know what to wear, I google Carrie Bradshaw and create a new look. Just wait and see, I'll put it on my blog during my holiday, don't worry.

5 YEARS TILBURG = 43 PAIRS OF TROUSERS

The last couple of days I'm busy to move all of my clothing from Tilburg (where I've studied for five years) to Dordrecht (where my parents live). Meanwhile I'm househunting in Amsterdam, so it's a very busy time for me. Today I brought almost all of my trousers and blazers home. And I was so shocked, I have more than 43 pairs of trousers! It's a disease I think. And with that I have 29 blazers, and 21 coats. I didn't count my dresses (yet), but maybe I'm not gonna do that because then I feel like a true shopaholic. O MY GOD, I'm so shocked. I bought all this in FIVE YEARS! As you can see I wasn't that happy during these years, and shopping was my therapy! Well if I ever get broke, I know how to get some money, just sell my wardrobe ;-) xoxo 

SINGAPORE NIGHTLIFE LOOK

I fell in love with Singapore, it's always summer! You can wear your summer-outfit every day of the year, what do you need more? The sun is always shining, and that's making me happy as a kid in a candyshop. Even at night the temperature is perfect, that's why I'm wearing this très chique dress, which I bought about 6 or 7 years ago at Zara. One of my first items I bought at Zara, and since then I'm addicted to this store! Love their vision and designs of the clothing they sell, absolutly fashionable and affordable. I combined it with my nude high heels with black accent at the toes from Steve Madden. What do uou think of this 'vintage' Zara dress? xoxo Alyssa

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: "LADY IN BLACK"

I love the color black (eventhough some people say it's not a color). It's beautiful to combine, with some more black. And you have to agree with me... black is never out of style! 

I bought this top in the Solden in Antwerp on a shoppingtrip with my mom. I wanted it for so long, and now I finally have it! Easy to combine and really classy (if you ask me)... I combined this top with a leather skirt (to make it a bit more tougher) and these two-toned tights. I didn't know how to wear these tights, it's difficult because it can look a bit slutty. But I think I did a good job with this 'Outfit of the day'. I felt a bit like Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl haha. Don't you think? Let me know :)

STYLE ICON: FREDDIE MERCURY

Call me crazy, but I just love love love Queen. Maybe it's because when I was young my dad always listened to their music, I can't help it: they are amazing! Specially my big hero Freddie Mercury, such a personality and what a beautiful voice. And above all, also a style icon for me. I just read on Wikipedia he studied design in college, I think that's so cool. Well, you just have to take a look for yourself. What do you think? I think he was the Lady Gaga of his own time.

Eveything this label makes is just brilliant, stunning, amazing, beautful, magnificent, gorgeous and wonderful. No words can describe its greatness. Take a look for yourself, and be amazed!

EXHIBITION: MERCE CUNNINGHAM / REI KAWAKUBO (COMME DES GARÇONS)

I love it when my two passions - dance and fashion - meet eachother. Rei Kawakubo created in 1997 costumes for Merce Cunningham's piece 'Scenario'. This pictures are from a exhibition at Walker (Minneapolis, United States) which explores the collaboration between the Japanese fashion designer and the legendary choreographer. The show is the third in a series showcasing the Walker's Merce Cunningham Dance Company Collection, the single largest aquisition of visual art in the Walker's history.

I'm really inspired by this. It would be great if I could combine the two things I love the most. When I see these pictures, I get all these ideas to create something for my own. Maybe I should draw something, and just try to make it.

P R I M A R K 2 0 1 3

Primark, a nice shop with sometimes nice things, but always too crowded for me. Okay, I know it's really cheap, but all these people are shopping as if their life depends on it. And because it's cheap, you like to buy a lot. Even stuff you don't really like or fit. And the quality kind of sucks, but anyways... sometimes they have amazing items. And again, I couldn't resist. My mom took me this week to Rotterdam for (again) a little shoppingtrip. Wait... O MY GOD! It's because of my mom, I am a Shopaholic. Haha, whatever I couldn't care less. I love it!

So, I went to Primark. I try not to go there too much, because I can't stand it when there are too much people and otherwise I would be broke as hell. But for a couple times a year, it's perfect. I always come back with some bags, and shoes! To fill up my collection ;-) 

I will show you everything I bought in an other 'Outfit of the Day' post. I'll keep you posted!

Fashion director Caroline Issa from Tank magazine is one of my favorite it-girls in blogger-land. She's always having a clear and personal style that doesn't disapoint. She always mix somethine, what for others would be hard-to-wear seperates, with ease. On this picture we combined Burak Uyan fur boots with a bright printed Mary Katrantzou T-shirt with leather leggings. Here you can recreate her look...

IRIS VAN HERPEN IS LAUNCHING A READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTION

Dutch designer Iris van Herpen, who is famous for her futuristic and outspoken designs has revealed that she's expanding her current couture-collection with a ready-to-wear collection. The deisgner of for instance Björk and Lady Gaga, took 5 years to work on her technique and materials. The wearable collection is made of innovative materials, such as laser-cut plexiglass and leather treated lace and foil. The 28 year old talent is going to launch her new collection named "Phy-tha-go-rash" next month, and it's inspired by a Dutch book of artist Bruno Ernst.

Van Herpen says: "It is really an extension of my couture line. For haute couture you are more concerned for the body to transform. The ready-to-wear collection you want the dress with the body flow. And it must be comfortable." Furthermore, she says that it is not the intention that women have to feel like Lady Gaga or Bjork. "I would not change a person's identity or how she feels."

The prices of clothing vary between 600 and 7120 euros and will be available at 20 selective retailers worldwide.

I can't wait to see the whole collection. I'm a big fan of her work! It's really beautiful to see all the details Van Herpen makes in her clothing, and I'm curious if that's the same with her new ready-to-wear collection.

STUDS-AND-CHAINS

BLAZER WITH STUDS ONLY | BLOUSE ZARA | TROUSERS H&M | SHOES UNKNOWN

As you may now, I love studs. About two years ago I bought some studs at the Albert Cuyp market in Amsterdam and put them on my shorts, jackets, bags and other stuff. And now, they're all hot and happening. I feel a bit like a trendsetter. 

A while ago my mom came to visit me in Tilburg, afther we had lunch at the opening of the Bagels and Beans we had a little shoppingtrip. I was so dissapointed I didn't saw a thing I liked, that I became a bit desperate. So I went to the Only, and there I saw this blazer with studs and chains. I immediatley fell in love with it (ofcourse) and I had to buy it. There was one problem, I didn't had the money because of all the Christmas-shopping. 

So I looked at my Mom, and she got it for me. I'm one lucky girl. It's such an eye-catching item in my wardrobe. I'm so looking foward to create some new looks and outfits with this blazer. 

In this picture I combined the blazer with a neutral blouse (which is, as you may see on my blog, one of my favorite items) and a printed blue jeans with... studded high heels! I think this is a though look, but also classy at the same time?

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA: LEATHER JACKET

I made a promise last time that I would make a better picture of my Maison Martin Margiela items. Here is the first one, the leather biker jacket. It's not very easy to wear because it's quite heavy, and the leather is also quite hard. But, like Anna Dello Russo once said: "Fashion is always uncomfortable, when you feel comfortable you never get the look."

So here it is. I'm very happy with it, and I'm trying to create some look with it. Today I decided to dress all black, so everybody could take a look at my jacket ;-) haha. I felt like the 'Lady in Black'.

BEANIE PRIMARK | COAT KATE MOSS FOR MANGO | TROUSERS H&M | SNEAKERS ISABEL MARANT

S U M M E R 2 0 1 3

As you may know, I don't like the cold. Guess what? It's cold today! My butt is freezing off... But I'm having some nice things to look foward to. I'm going to travel quite a lot this spring/summer!

My Mom and Dad decided around Christmas to take me to Singapore (for a serious shopping trip) in May! Can't wait to visit the sun, and leave the coldness and darkness behind. Can you imagine in the spring: going to Sentosa beach, having cocktails, enjoy the nice food and shop 'till you drop! Singepore: HERE I COME!!

After that holiday, I'm probably going to graduate... and maybe there's a Interrail vacation trhough Europe (but not planned or booked yet). And I'm hoping I'll be moving to Amsterdam around that time and enjoy life there. Can't wait to live there, everytime I think about that I get happy!

Last but not least, in August I'm going to Lanzarote (Canary Islands, Spain) with my parents. My dad just booked it, as a sort of present for my graduation - haha so now I have to pass all the exams ;-) So yes, this picture fit's this situation right now: This summer is for Art and Adventures! I can't wait to go there, having an amazing experience and making beautiful pictues!

But now, I've to work my ass of for school and work to get my Bikini-body in May! Hahaha... Crap! For today, I had my ballet-class and now I'm not leaving the house anymore because it started snowing.
