Walter van Beirendonck (Belgium designer) made beautiful haute couture costumes for the Ballet de l'opera in Paris. I'm amazed, it's sort of like a Lady Gaga concert, but now with ballet dancers. Amazing how dance and fashion meets each other, don't you think?

LAZY MONDAY
Whenever I don't feel very well I have to watch "Breakfast at Tiffany's" starring Audrey Hepburn. I just love that movie, and she's such a style icon! Today, is one of those days. I couldn't do anything, except lay in bed with a cup of tea and a bunch of old movies. I did some research about Mrs. Hepburn, and gosh she had such an intresting life. She used to live in the Netherlands, trained to be a ballerina and was one of the most beautiful women on earth. Another movie I have to watch on these lazy mondays is "Sophie's Choice" with Meryl Streep, as you may know I'm a huge fan of her. She's the greatest actress on earth. Don't you think? xoxo Alyssa

DOCUMENTRY: DIANA VREELAND
About a week ago, there was a documentry on tv about Diana Vreeland. I recorded it, and today I decided to watch it. My god, she had such an intresting life - so inspiring! She was sent to a dancing school and was a student of Michel Fokine(!!), performed in Anna Pavlova's Gavotte at Carnegie Hall, was also friends with Coco Chanel, Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick.
Called the "High Priestess of Fashion" Diana Vreeland was an American original whose impact on fashion and style was legendary. In 1936 when she became fashion editor at Harper's Bazaar, Vreeland established herself as a controversial visionary with an astonishing ability to invent and discover fashion ideas, designers, personalities and photographers. She was a memorable writer with a vivid personality and a talent for coining aphorisms.
If you love fashion, you really have to see the documentry: The Eye Has To Travel. It's more than just an intimate portrait of the legendary fashion icon. It captures Vreeland's life visually through a multitude of media including film, photography, animation, graphics, text, sound and music. Diana Vreeland's own voice and persona - strong, eloquent and often very exaggerated - will guide you through her life,
adventures, accomplishments and passions.
Enjoy! xoxo Alyssa

GARETH PUGH FOR 'CARBON LIFE BALLET'
I found these pictures on the web. It's by Gareth Pugh for Carbon Life Ballet. It's really inspiring to mix high fashion and dance. Really what I was looking for. It's giving me ideas for making something really edgy (as a costume or as a choreography, I don't know - but when I'm seeing this I have the urge to do something with it). What do you think?

BUTT-KICKIN'-BALLET
O M Y G O D
Today I've got my BUTT KICKED in the ballet class!
by the Hungarian ballet teacher named László
We only have 5 students in the ballet class, so he sees everything.
I mean like, really everything.
That's why I gave this class a new name: BUTT-KICKIN'-BALLET.
We're all working our ass off!
